Our Programs

Healing Species Texas has been teaching youth in schools and juvenile correctional facilities for over 16 years.
We offer instruction for grades 4–12, all accompanied by our special teaching dogs. Dogs of Character is our school assembly.

Project Paws is the adult curriculum recently added in 2024.

This year, we are proud to introduce The Canine Insight for staff development team building, leadership training and wellness.

At Healing Species Texas, we believe that compassion has the power to change lives.

With the help of rescued dogs and their inspiring stories of second chances, we teach children the importance of kindness, empathy, respect, and making positive choices.

Through the special bond between children and dogs, we help young hearts grow, build stronger character, and discover that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference.

Our teaching dogs help create a welcoming environment, encouraging positive responses, stronger participation, and deeper engagement in therapeutic programs.

Children naturally connect with dogs, so we created a lively and memorable school assembly that brings important lessons to life.

Students meet three remarkable rescue dogs who help teach character, compassion, kindness, and the value of caring for others.

Assemblies are the best way to introduce the concepts of Rescuing Each Other. Posters, school wide advocacy projects and enrichment activities are included in the assembly.
